The idea for the game Touchline ban was formed many moons ago from when I used to play football manager type games on my Commodore 64, I used to while away the hours playing Football Manager and The double, and other games such as Football director.
These games were fantastic and I will always remember my first ever game on Football Manager on the spectrum, in my cousins bedroom, it was something very exciting to me as a 12 year old.
The market leader now is of course championship manager, which is by far and away the best Football management game on the market and rightfully so as this game is about as realistic as it ever could be and im sure in time the 3d engine, will eventually be like watching a real game in real time, as they continue to move forward.
However there are some downsides to this game, one being it takes so long to play, you can sit down for an hours session of the game and while away 8 hours in no time. Its also not very good for multiplayer games because of the time needed to play the game.
I started to think there isn't really a good football manager type game that you can play with your friend's that is quick to play, also one where you can play online and also meet and chat to new managers.
I started to make plans to design my own game and think about how I could solve this problem and also make a good job at it, it has taken me a good 3 years to develop this game, and also find a programmer that is committed to making the game live up to its full potential.
I started by looking at some of the old games I used to play, and plucking some of the elements that I thought would work in a fast online game, games like football director had lots of ideas as this is a very easy game to play and also pretty quick to play many games at.
Also elements of games like soccer boss which has lots of random events going off to keep the game exciting, has been taken and implemented into the game.
I also added some chat options so people can meet and arrange games online, and meet new people or even invite friends to join.
I hope you like our game and we hope to continue to develop it over time and make the game even better, also please use the contact us page to let us know of any issues, or any ideas you have to improve the game.
